Kennesaw State University - Social
Science Classroom Building
Stevens & Wilkinson designed a new classroom building for Kennesaw State University that houses more than 40 classrooms and office space for five academic departments within the College of Social Science.
Interior spaces include a 300-seat auditorium, a 116-seat film classroom and a large indoor student plaza with access to an exterior porch.
The 162,500 square foot, five-story building was sited to preserve several large oak trees, as well as an existing green space to the north.
Brick facades respect the existing campus material palette, with a design that gives the building a unique identity. The design achieved LEED Silver certification.
The new Social Science Classroom Building is certified LEED Silver and includes more than 162,000-square feet of space.
