California Dreaming – Union Station Terminal

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Stevens & Wilkinson transformed downtown Columbia’s historic Union Station Terminal into California Dreaming, a thriving specialty restaurant and bar. Originally designed by Frank l. Milburn in 1902, this former center for transportation remained in operation until 1954. Guided only by news articles published by The State Newspaper, Stevens & Wilkinson worked closely with the South Carolina Department of Archives & History to carefully develop a design that would artfully integrate the original mahogany and oak millwork into the interior elements of the building’s structure.
