The Bunten Road Recreational Activities Building is located in an existing park in the City of Duluth. Visitors enter between the two wings of the building – gymnasium to one side, programmed activities to the other and a soaring wall of glass straight ahead. At 28,900 square feet, the program includes a gymnasium, offices, multi-purpose room, senior’s activity room, teen room and a small police precinct. The sleek metal skin provides a counterpoint to the weighty masonry base on the wings of the building. The tough exterior with open, airy interior reflects the disciplined yet inviting nature of this multipurpose program.
