Auburn University – Gavin Engineering Research Laboratory (G.E.R.L.)

The Gavin Engineering Research Laboratory (G.E.R.L.) is a full scale renovation of the 1930’s era Textile Engineering Facility at Auburn University. Services provided by Stevens & Wilkinson include programming, lab planning and complete architectural and engineering design services.

The renovation will prepare the building for a variety of research activities for the College of Engineering including much needed surge space for new faculty and special projects. Building highlights will include Polymers and Composites Research, Additive Manufacturing Research, Nuclear Power Generating Systems, research support labs, as well as, meeting spaces, graduate and post doc offices and interaction spaces.

Stevens & Wilkinson’s mission for G.E.R.L. is to create inspirational spaces which showcase the latest technologies and foster a process of discovery, all while allowing a much loved building to evolve with the momentum of Auburn University’s research community.
